SIX years of ABSENCE FRONT COVER

During the COVID pandemic, I was sorting through personal papers one day, when I stumbled upon a couple of hand-written pages from my dad, Alexandre, who passed away three decades ago. In those couple of pages, he reported his journey through World War II (with some locations, dates and anecdotes). I felt compelled to write a fiction inspired by his odyssey and historical events.

I enjoyed searching documentation and archives, reviewing the major events of that period, and following his footsteps in various places across Europe.

I hope that you will take pleasure in reading his adventures and discovering the many intertwined stories and characters, perhaps learning more about WWII and the sacrifices of the men and women who helped save the world.
