At the beginning of the pandemic, I was sorting through old personal papers, and I stumbled upon a couple of hand-written pages from my dad (who passed away 25 years ago).  In those couple of pages, he reported his odyssey through World War II (with locations, dates and a couple of anecdotes).  I felt compelled to start writing a fiction based on his journey and true historical events.  I took an immense pleasure in searching through documentation, learning about the places he crossed and the major events of that period.   

During the COVID pandemic, I was sorting through personal papers one day, when I stumbled upon a couple of hand-written pages from my dad, Alexandre, who passed away three decades ago. In those couple of pages, he reported his journey through World War II (with some locations, dates and anecdotes). I felt compelled to write a fiction inspired by his odyssey and historical events.

I enjoyed searching documentation and archives, reviewing the major events of that period, and following his footsteps in various places across Europe.
